SCHOOL GROUPS! Be sure to read the following information if you've purchased passes for your school group.
Arrival Time
The exhibition operates under a timed entry system. In order to ensure that you don’t miss your allocated time slot while also avoiding an extended queuing period we suggest that you arrive at the car park 30 minutes prior to your ticketed time. This will allow you to park and walk to the exhibition, where you will be given further instruction.
Lunch Area
The exhibition offers a marquee facility for school groups. It consists of a heated, lit tent just outside the exhibition. It is equipped with tables, chairs and lockable crates for coats and bags.
School groups will be brought here from the O2’s main entrance, where the marquee staff will assist the groups to arrange storage space for belongings, lunch times, restroom visits and exhibition entrance. More information on the marquee is available under “School Procedures.”
School Procedures
School groups arriving at the O2 should head for the member of the Tutankhamun staff stationed by the main entrance. This person will greet them and introduce them to a staff member acting as a runner, who will lead the schools down to our marquee facility. Once there, depending on the day’s school schedule, marquee staff will work with a group’s leader to determine in what sequence the group will visit the restrooms, have their lunch and enter the exhibition. Marquee staff will also assist the group in moving amongst the marquee, restrooms and exhibition. School groups will also either hand in their tickets to marquee staff at this point or, if they don’t have tickets in hand, will collect them at box office and turn them in. groups will then enter the exhibition, tour at their own pace and then return to the marquee to collect their bags.
Group Split
The theatre that begins our exhibition is specifically designed to hold 60 visitors at a time. As school groups sometimes contain more than 60 students it could be necessary to split up a large school party. This division will last only for the duration of our 90-second introductory film. Once the first part of the group has entered Gallery 2 they can wait off to one side until the rest of their party has joined them, and can then begin their tour.
